Meet Hailey.
When Hailey’s mom, Rebekah, emailed me about nominating her for a Proud to Be Me tween session, her story brought me to tears. It was familiar to me and one of the reasons I started offering these portrait sessions. Hailey withstood bullying at one school and then witnessed extreme bullying and threats. Instead of just standing by, she showed bravery and compassion beyond her years.
“When she learned a classmate was being bullied, not only did Hailey stand up for her and for what is right, in turn receiving some of the bullying, but she went even further beyond by writing to this classmate to apologize for others’ actions. ” -Mom
If I’m being honest, I was not this brave in junior high, let alone high school. Standing up against bullies is not easy, and the strength that Hailey has shown is admirable.
Not only is she strong, but she has perseverance too! Hailey runs races with her mom – 10Ks! She brought around six medals with her from these 6.2 mile races and proudly showed them off. This awesome young lady is working on a great foundation for her future!
